Cutting Skills
Cutting skills are really important and are a great fine motor exercise. Keep it simple, use what you have; scraps of card and paper create a great opportunity for practising this skill.
Using Tweezers
Why not make a Halloween jelly swamp? This is an old post which can easily be adapted for Halloween; add in some bats, spiders etc and you have a fine motor, fun Halloween activity. Enjoy!
Fine Motor & Number Fun
Lots of mileage in this activity, incorporating lots of skills. Fine motor, coordination, number recognition, problem solving and reasoning to name but a few. An easy activity to add some challenge into; ordering numbers, number sentences etc discussing more/less. Always be guided by your little one, when they're ready, they're ready!
Fine Motor Activities
Before children start to hold a pencil they need to develop muscles in their little hands. Developing these fine motor skills will enable them to hold a pencil, use a zip, tie a shoe lace and button a shirt. It is important remember there is not a right or wrong time for a child to do this, it's when they are developmentally ready. As always, make it fun, make it a shared activity.
Dinosaur Rescue
Such a simple idea which has many opportunities for learning. Fine motor as the little ones lift the dinosaurs, followed by colour identification, sorting (colours, legs, tails), counting and adding. Could be a great turn taking/sharing activity with children working together. Enjoy!
Threading
Threading is perfect for strengthening little hands and there are so many objects you could use. Be creative, be resourceful!

Great activity for strengthening those little hands. I used my daughter's old loom bands and these were great for the children to control and stretch over the small hearts.
Lacing Hearts
Such a simple, creative idea using everyday items. Piece of old cardboard, add paint or colour with pens. Using a small hole punch ask the children to punch along the edge and then they can just thread the ribbon. Excellent for developing those little hands; cutting, punching, colouring and threading.
